Once you choose your dress
Save a few references and identify the pieces you actually need. Consider the ceremony, reception, climate, and traditions that matter to you. Confirm production and delivery expectations directly with each retailer.
Before alterations begin
Choose the shoes you will wear for the hem fitting. Bring any shaping or layering pieces that affect how the dress sits. A backup reception shoe should work with the finished length.
At your hair and makeup trial
Take your veil, earrings, hair accessories, and neckline photographs. Test the placement and weight of each piece. Keep photographs so the final styling can be recreated.
A few weeks before the celebration
Check closures, clasps, straps, and packaging. Try the full look at home. Make a small list of who will carry the veil, hold your bag, and keep anything you remove.
On the day
Lay out your pieces together before dressing. Allow a little time for photographs and last adjustments. The best preparation gives you fewer decisions to make in the moment.
